Salem Massachusetts Wedding Photos By Alyssa Parker Photography

On Sunday May 5th I packed up my clear umbrellas, my rain coat and rain cover for my camera, but I didn’t need any of those things! It was a lovely overcast spring day and Shannon and Nate said their I do’s in the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, MA.

When I asked Shannon if there was a theme for their wedding she said if they could they would have a Disney, Harry Potter, Beatles, Star Wars themed wedding. These things were tastefully added to their wedding day. Like how they walked down the aisle, after becoming husband and wife, to the Star Wars Theme Song, or the sign that said “Hey there, hi there, ho there, you’re as welcome as can be.” We even recreated the “Abbey Road” Beatles photo with the bridesmaids. And the whole day was like a fairytale. Pale pinks, gray-blues and gold made up the colors for their day and it was a perfect spring color combo and really brightened up the gorgeous space at The Hawthorne Hotel. The ballroom was bright and beautiful with the white walls (my favorite) and the large windows on one side of the room, gold chairs and chargers really added such elegance.

A few of my favorite moments from Nate and Shannon’s wedding were Shannon’s brother, Liam, walking her down the aisle and her four uncles taking turns dancing with her and then all coming together in a group hug at the end of the song. I have to say, I got so emotional during that part of the night.

I usually like to spend May 5th eating tacos and drinking margaritas, but spending the day with Nate, Shannon and all their friends and family made for a great Cinco De Mayo!
