Beautycounter Clean Beauty // Why I Use Clean Beauty + Products My Favorite Products

Why switch to clean beauty and skincare by Alyssa Parker Photography

I started only using products that do not have the “Suspicious 6” (Essential Oils, Drying Alcohols, Silicones, Chemical Sunscreens, Fragrances/Dyes, SLS) in them, when I found out that those ingredients are likely to cause almost every skin issue there is. Then, about a year ago I discovered Beautycounter from a photographer friend of mine. I learned that the US does not regulate beauty products like they should, so companies can basically put whatever they want in products. And Beautycounter is trying to change that! They are on a mission to get clean beauty products in people’s hands and fighting to get policies changed so that companies have to stop using harmful ingredients. They have a list of over 15,000 ingredients they will never put in their products.

So, obviously I had to try out these products because I care about what goes on my skin and ultimately what’s going in my bloodstream. All I wanted is to like them as much as the other products I was using, but I actually ended up loving them even more! Safe products that work better than anything I’ve ever used – now that’s something I can get behind. So, I became a consultant and decided I want to share the beauty of Beautycounter with everyone I know!

Here are a few of my favorites.

  1. CounterTimeThis is my all-time favorite collection. It helps firm, brighten, and plump your skin. It is great with my combination skin - not drying but doesn’t make me oily either. And best of all, my face doesn’t get super red when using it! I can’t say enough good things about this line. And right now, if you purchase any regimen, you’ll get a free full size product! That’s $69 off! SUCH A GOOD DEAL.

  2. Beauty Balm – The magical balm that does it all! It removes makeup, moisturizes, helps with redness/rosacea, and minimizes scars and burns.

  3. Charcoal Face MaskThe best facemask I’ve ever used (And I’ve used a lot). I can see such a different with my skin and pores after just once use.

  4. CounterControl Pore CleanserThis is such a great exfoliator! I use it twice a week to help with my pores.

  5. Resurfacing Peel - I put this on before bed and when I wake up my skin looks amazing! And If you like a deal, this set is amazing! It comes with the resurfacing peel, plus it also includes a Illuminating Cream Highlighter in Rose Glow, and Instant Glow Illuminating Cream for just $26 more than the peel.

  6. Charcoal Bar - I love this for my combination skin! It helps so much with my oily T-zone and pores! I just use it for my face, but it can be used on as a body bar too!

  7. #1 Brightening Oil - I am so obsessed with this oil!! (I love the #2 plumping oil, too, but the #1 is my #1) You would think it would be a bad idea to use oil on oily skin but it’s not! It soaks in and make my skin so bright, radiant and hydrated. Just the think my skin need in the winter!

  8. Brow Tint – If you only get one makeup product get this one! It’s like brow gel, tint and a brush all in one! It’s so easy to use and having darker brows makes a HUGE difference. I’ll probably do a seperate blog all about my favorite clean makeup, but I have to include this on here because I love it so much.

Thanks for reading! If you have questions about clean beauty I’m happy to answer them! And please know that if you’re interested in making changes to clean up your beauty routine, you can make small steps. One or two products at a time. And step toward cleaner beauty is a step in the right direction!
