Jude Thomas - Two Months
Month two flew by quicker than the first month. Jude continues to grow and talk more and more and I swear he gets cuter everyday. Our big boy now weighs a healthy 13 pounds and he is 2 feet long! Out of Newborn clothes and is now wearing 0-3 month size, but I don’t think it’ll be long until he is on to the next size up! He LOVES to smile, especially in the morning after a good nights sleep. Speaking of, he has been amazing at night, sleeping a 6 or 7 hour stretch, wakes up to eat and then sleeps another 2 or 3 hours. We have taken him to Target a couple times, the grocery store, and Home Depot. He does well in the car when it’s moving, the moment we stop (even just for a minute) he will sometimes start fussing. He loves being outside, but like his parents, his eyes are sensitive to the light. The most exciting thing to happen this month was a visit from Uncle Matthew and Aunt Katie! Jude loves taking naps with his uncle and listening to all his jokes. And Aunt Katie brought Jude a little piece of Arizona; a cactus pillow that matches his nursery perfectly! We can’t wait to see them again, hopefully soon! Allan went back to work, he mostly works from home, but still has to go into work a couple days a week. And I am soaking in all the snuggles I can before things get more hectic when my wedding season starts. Below are some of our favorite moments from month two with Jude.
Favorite Moments of Month Two
Allan continues to be super helpful even though he went back to work. One of my favorite things is when he comes in while I'm breastfeeding and asks if I need anything. He's the best husband and daddy! He also randomly brought me flowers and a card one night after getting home from work.
Uncle Matthew and Aunt Katie visited. Matthew loved holding baby Jude and telling him jokes. He also made dinner for us a couple of times, and one night, we showed them how to make our famous homemade ravioli, and every day we would of course play board games, we tried to get through Machi Koro Legacy, but we just couldn’t do it. Next time.
The first time Jude smiled at someone (and not just a milk-drunk smile) was at Winnie when she was being silly.
He now loves smiling at me and Daddy and it's our favorite thing!
He loves reaching out and grabbing our fingers, shirts, and hair...
Jude is rolling over from belly to back lots!
Jude now only wakes up twice throughout the night!
Winnie got locked in Jude’s room at bedtime because she was sleeping under his crib, but she waited by the door (for a good 5-10 minutes) and didn't bark like she usually does (this has happened before when Jude wasn't in the room) it's as if she knew not to wake him.
Allan and I changed Jude’s diaper and as soon as we get the clean one on, he let out a huge fart and then smiles real big
another time we were changing his diaper and he pees, getting his pajamas and swaddle soaked, as soon as we realized it he smiled super big and made a sound almost like he was laughing... which made us Crack up!
We have taken a few trips with Jude (and Winnie) to tjmaxx, home depot, target, and the carwash.
Jude finally got his birth certificate (after the hospital slowed that process for us, ugh)
Going for lots of walks! Erin, Allie, and Sarah have all joined us too!
Jude officially outgrew his newborn clothes and the small sized swaddles.
One super cold morning the power went out and so we snuggled in bed most of the day, to stay warm. It was awesome.
Jude Loves when we give him kisses! My heart melted the first time Allan kissed him and Jude gave him the bigest smile!!
