Kelly & Alex's Wedding at Sky Meadow Country Club // Nashua, NH
Where to begin with this amazing couple? I guess I’ll start with their love story, because it’s too sweet not to share. Instead of telling you the story myself, I’ll let you read what Kelly sent to me in an email when she had first reached out in January.
“I came to Washington DC to work a temporary work detail; I was living in CA at the time. The detail was slated to last a minimum of 6 months, maximum of 2 years. I already knew I wanted to stay in DC so I emptied my apartment in CA into a storage unit and headed to DC. Alex and I met at work, he was friends with someone I worked with so he was always coming up to my floor. We would see each other in the gym a lot and say hi but we were both a little shy and we didn’t chat too much. When our co-workers had a happy hour, another mutual friend invited us to go and we both agreed to go. That night he let me wear his jacket because I was cold. As we slowly got to know each other more we talked about the classes the gym offered and he mentioned that he had always wanted to try yoga because he was very inflexible and he heard it was good for you. Neither of us liked the environment of classes because we felt like we wouldn’t be able to do what was asked but we agreed to go together. The first day we agreed to go he somehow forgot his shoes and couldn’t go. We re-scheduled and leading up to it talked about how we were nervous about going! We went, both feeling awkward, both with the class and each other. Then the next Sunday I texted him after church because my church was (I thought) near where he lived, so I asked him what there was to do in the area. He suggested we meet up for mini golf so we did. Then we went to get ice cream, when we went to get into his car he opened the door for me. I think that was a first for me, and since that day he has never not opened a door for me. We started dating but kept it under wraps because we worked together, then there was the fear that I may have to go back to CA. Finally, I was accepted for a permanent position here in DC which was a good thing because I was already head over heels over Alex! We started dating April 2017, that month I went on vacation with my family, we had been dating maybe 3 weeks, and I couldn’t stop talking about him and how great he was. He is the most amazing man; the kindest person I have ever met with such a good heart. I was happy that it took me until age 35 to find ‘the one’, because this one was worth the wait!”
I think this sums them up pretty well. Their chemistry and affection toward one another is so special. I can’t even tell how great it was to follow them around all day and capture it through my lens. I even started to tear up a few times just watching them dance and to see how happy and in love they are.
Their wedding was the most magical day! It’s hard to believe they planned all of it from Virginia! I hope you enjoy these photos of the new Mr. and Mrs. Tumminelli’s wedding day!
