Chris & Ali's Rustic Wedding at the Chelmsford Elks Lodge
I’d like to start off by apologizing in advance for how many times I’m about to use the word “cute” or “adorable.“ It’s just, Chris and Ali are the actual cutest. They were high energy and smiling ear-to-ear all day! They could not have been more excited to become husband and wife. Married on September 22nd at the beautiful Chelmsford Elks Lodge, which is a gorgeous open room with natural walls and the sweetest little outdoor area perfect for their ceremony!
We started the day at the Radisson Hotel in Chelmsford, minutes away from the Elks Lodge. When my second photographer, Sarah, and I arrived we started by walking around the property to find great locations for portraits since Ali & Chris wanted to have all the formal portraits taken prior to the ceremony and reception at the Elks Lodge so that they could get right down to the party immediately following the ceremony. After scouting out the place we went to the bridal suite (which was huge) where the bride and her sister and two friends were having their hair done by Ali’s Aunt, Stephenie Klesaris and makeup done by Jeremy Anaya Beauty. We could tell everyone was excited and ready to get Ali and Chris married! They had music going and were singing along! The atmosphere was a little different in the guys room, Chris and his brothers + unofficially adopted brother were hanging out, watch football and waiting for their cue to start putting their ties and jackets on. EVeryone was calm, but we could tell Chris was anxious to see his bride. Chris and Ali both wrote letters to each other which they read quietly to themselves and it was so cute. Ali drew SpongeBob on her letter to Chris, as she has done on every letter she has written Chris for all the important milestones. Once they were dressed and ready, we headed to the grand staircase where Ali and Chris shared their first look. This was by far the cutest first look I have ever witnessed. They were so happy and couldn’t stop hugging, kissing, smiling, looking and telling each other how good the other looked. It was seriously a photographers dream, Sarah and I just kept snapping away and they are some of my favorite photos! We then brought their bridal party up, followed by their families. The foyer had nice window light so we were able to get most of the formals done there and then we brought Ali and Chris outside to the locations we had scouted out earlier for more photos of just the two of them. Needless to say, they were so cute as we took photos of them. It was the magic that happened during their first look all over again.
The ceremony was short and sweet, it was very secluded in the fenced in yard area, the flower girl and ring bearer stole my heart and probably the hearts of many, Chris and Ali said their “I dos” under the arbor they made themselves, they shared the best kiss as they’re friends and family expressed how happy they were for them with load cheers, then it was time to party! They made their grand entrance into the reception hall and went straight to their first dance as husband and wife to a song sung by their friend. Dinner was catered in by the chicken connection and it was delicious! DJ Gregg Gelinas of Get Down Tonight Entertainment really knew how to get the party going and almost everyone was dancing the night away! Sarah and I were there for 11 hours, but the time flew by and everything went so perfectly. It was an awesome day and I loved reliving it as I went through each photo.
