How did Brett Propose?

Brett and I grew up together and started dating in 10 grade (2010). In December of 2018 we were making Christmas cookies and when we put them in the oven we went to go relax and as Brett was about to get on his knee (I had no idea) the cookie timer went off. He was a nervous wreck when I went to go check the cookies! when I came back he was on his knee and asked me to marry him!

Tell us about your wedding!

We always talked about getting married in the summer! I wanted pink for my bridesmaids but also something that was unique so I went with the dusty rose! We chose navy blue because I have always thought Brett was so handsome in a blue suit! We knew we wanted to get married outside but also wanted something that signified our religion, that is why we incorporated the cross at the alter!

Our florist was spot on with what we wanted! My family had wine barrels that the florist was able to incorporate with the beautiful arrangements! We wanted something light and bright and she matched our inspiration photos perfectly!

Our Favorite part of our wedding was our donuts! We aren’t big cake people and loved how our dessert table came out! Also having my wedding in my parents’ backyard. It’s my childhood home and getting ready for the big day brought back so many memories. Another very special part of our day was that Brett wore my late grandfather’s tie! It matches our colors perfectly and felt like he was there with us!

COVID has been a huge struggle for our wedding plans so the most anticipated moment would have to be the wedding actually happening!! We ran into so many issues but I swear those are what made the day so much more enjoyable because we felt like we made it! Also, I couldn’t wait to walk around the corner and see Brett standing at the end of the aisle. It’s what every girl dreams about and it is such a special and indescribable feeling!

What Advice Do you Have for Other Brides?

Take a breath! Things will go wrong, trust me (Covid bride) but the only thing you should focus your energy on is the fact that you are about to marry the love of your life!
